Desert Christian Academy is located in the community of Bermuda Dunes (117 miles east of Los Angeles, and 113 miles northeast of San Diego) in Riverside County, the fastest growing county in California. Other nearby cities include Palm Desert, La Quinta and Indio.

 

The full time resident population of the Coachella Valley is 352,154. The yearly mean temperature is 73 degrees with 350 sunny days per year.

 

The economy of the Coachella Valley is driven mainly through tourism and agriculture. Tourism brings $1.5 billion per year to the valley. World class events such as the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and the BNP Paribas Tennis Open are held in our community. The Coachella Valley boasts 130 golf courses including five PGA West courses in nearby La Quinta.


The beautiful near-perfect desert climate offers a year-round respite to visitors from around the world. With only 15-20 days of rainfall per year averaging a total of 5.78 inches, dry air and low humidity, there is fun in the sun by day and balmy desert evenings to enjoy to the fullest. From fall through late spring, days are warm and nights are cool. Summer days are hotter, but clean, dry air makes the higher temperature feel comfortable. Temperatures are 30-40 degrees lower at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and the Alpine community of Idyllwild.
