• early education credentials through Vanguard University

 

I grew up on the beautiful Oregon coast, met my husband of 11 years in Walla Walla, Washington, have now enjoyed living in La Quinta, or nearby, for the last 9 years and enjoy worshipping at Southwest Community Church. I was drawn to teaching early education because of the joy of being teacher to my own amazing 8 year old.

I started my journey here at CSOD 4 years ago when my son Kameron began preschool here in February 2006, I was known simply as “Kameron’s Mom.” As he went on to kindergarten, occasionally I heard a few small voices saying “Mrs. Riso.”

Three years ago, at the Lord’s urging and our director Ms. Christy Patron’s encouragement, I began taking early childhood education classes online through Vanguard University. I appreciated the loving teachers my son had and now appreciate working with the talented, loving, unique, team of teachers. I consider my role as Mom to my son Kameron my best education and my inspiration for entering the early education field.
