I was born in Santa Monica, Calif., and lived in Southern California until getting married. I graduated from Biola University in 1982 and began teaching 3rd grade in a Christian school in 1983. This is also the year I met my husband Steve, and we were married in 1984. We served overseas as missionaries for 3 years with SIM International. We have been living in the Coachella Valley since 1988. We have two sons, Matthew and Michael. Matthew graduated from Desert Christian in 2007 and is attending Vanguard University, and Michael is currently a junior at Desert Christian. Steve is the pastor at JPL Bible Church, and I do volunteer work at the church. I love working with children and seeing their gifts being developed. I grew up with music as part of my life, so I am very thankful the Lord has given me this opportunity to combine music with teaching. As a mom, it has been a joy to have my 2 sons go to the school where I work. I see CSOD as a family. I appreciate all the staff, as well as parents and students. I love the freedom that we have to relate everything we're teaching (through our words and actions), to the Bible, and to glorify the Lord.
