Curriculum

Desert Christian Academy's Preschool utilizes the A Beka Book Curriculum, which is in agreement with our Mission Statement and Philosophy. The A Beka Book Curriculum was selected for its phonics-based academic structure and math concepts in numbers and skills, as well as reading readiness, language development, manuscript writing, poetry and finger-plays, music and movement, health and safety, character building, and Bible-based principles. Our academic goal and objectives are in agreement with the A Beka Book Scope and Sequence.

Through the utilization of A Beka's Book Publications, we have found a successful method of telling Bible stories by use of beautiful picture cards and music. Kindergarten students memorize the school's verse and 26 other verses, one for each letter of the alphabet. We have several weeks at the end of that where we review the 26 verses for our program.

Our kindergarten student learn the foundations of phonics and reading, mathematics, language arts, social studies, science and health.

With field trips to the pumpkin patch for farmer's day and the living desert we give our students the opportunity to learn hands on and in a fun environment.
